Loft conversion, Brentwood
This large loft in Brentwood had previously been boarded out and was used for storage.
When we saw the job, we advised the client that due to the large size of the loft, they didn’t really need to add a dormer and that a Velux board out would be sufficient.
This means the space, that now accommodates a bedroom and bathroom, has kept a lot of character by keeping the existing angles and bends. It also means the job was a lot quicker and cheaper than the client originally anticipated.
We also reinforced the floor so that it could support a jacuzzi bath, which is heavier than an ordinary bath.
